Jo-Ann D'Alfonso, C-IAYT

Certified Yoga Therapist

Jo-Ann is a bilingual (French/English) Yoga Therapist / Educator, and certified Positive Psychology for WholeBeing practitioner. As well as an IEMT practitioner (Integrative Eye Movement Therapy). Jo-Ann’s ongoing education helps her deliver new advance practices to assist her clients towards a greater quality of life.

She has more than twenty years of yoga practice and is certified with the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and is registered with the Québec Naturotherapist Association (Association québécoise des thérapeutes naturels).

Yoga Therapy uses the principles of the ancient teachings of yoga and establishes therapeutic objectives to support individuals in their healing process. Unlike conventional yoga classes, the focus of each Yoga Therapy session is to tailor a plan for each individual to promote well-being.

Jo-Ann's sessions are all provided one to one in a private room setting. Sessions can be used to prepare for community yoga classes if this is a goal. Jo-Ann's special interest is in pain management and overall mental wellness. Her approach is to use movement and the philosophy of yoga, mindfulness, meditation, breathing and relaxation to help relieve pain and soothe the nervous system and other specific practices meeting the client where they are in their processes. This approach is rooted in her deep respect for the intelligence of the body-mind connection and the human capacity for inner guidance. She encourages the client to take an active role in their healing process.
